School girl to ski to North Pole

A 15 year old girl is attempting to become the youngest female to ski to the North Pole.

Camilla Hempleman- Adams hopes to follow in the footsteps of her world famous explorer father in completing the 80 mile journey.

The teen from London hopes the trek will raise consciousness of the Milton ice caps caused by global warming. She will be joined by her father and a polar expert from Norway on the 3rd of April.

On Thursday she will meet the Duke of Edinburgh, as she prepares for the record breaking bid. Following the meeting with the Duke, Camilla will unveil a six foot ice clock in Parliament Square to show the rate at which the polar ice caps are melting. The school girl will face temperatures of -45c, tough terrain and the threat of frostbite during her eco challenge.
