School sends home letter blunder

A young girl named Megan, 15 died 2 months ago with a suspected prescription overdose.

Although Megan was dead, her school sent her parents a letter informing them about their daughters’ poor attendance and threatened to ban her from there schools end of year prom.

The letter said that every pupil needs to achieve at least 92% whiles Megan’s attendance was only reaching 60.4%.

Her parents, Mark and Margaret Gillian were distraught about their daughter’s death and are trying to come to terms with this tragic occurrence.

Her mother said that "Megan would have loved going to the prom. She planned to go with a group of friends; she was really looking forward to it."

Her mother also said that "I was pulling my self together to go to work but receiving this letter has just floored me."

The school has apologised for the mistake which they said was down to a computer error.
