Does Gaming Improve Brain Power?
Video games have been targeted for promoting violence and distracting children from healthier activities like sports and playing outside. New research has found out that a few hours playing on an action video game can improve your concentration, for example they kept better track of five fast moving objects continuously and processed fast changing visual information efficiently t find any improvement in memory skills.
Bavelier Shawn found that young who play action games had better visual skills “they can process more information more quickly over time”. The researchers did not comment on the cause of the vast improvement but noted that similar effects were not as evident players who played non-violent games such as Tetris.
